Chelan #1

I will call this post Chelan #1 as there could be more Chelan posts, possibly many more! From 1977 through 1987, I was a seasonal wilderness ranger working for the Chelan Ranger District on the Wenatchee National Forest. While there were a variety of projects including prescribed burning, fire fighting, timber stand improvement, much of the time between May thru September (or later) I was on the trail. The standard was 10 day backpacks either in the northeastern quarter of the Glacier Peak Wilderness or the Chelan backcountry – and after 1984 – the Lake Chelan-Sawtooth Wilderness. During my time off, I explored other areas.

This is a starter gallery of some of my scanned Kodachrome slides from scrambling around these hills. We’ll see where it goes from here!
